Watch out, or be Culverized!
hello again peepers! Well, I have finished day #2 of my Culver training and it wasn't too bad, but not the most exciting thing to do. I must say that I would much rather be in Rochester hanging out with my beautiful fiance' and all my other homies at the Hemmer House, I miss you peoples, ya know Jackie, Rick, Brice and Gavin :)
Today in the first session of Culver shift management we got to learn a little bit from Craig Culver, as he personally gave us the spirit of Culvers, he's actually not too bad of a speaker considering he went to college for a degree in Biology of all things. After his class we got to hear a little bit from an extremely knowledgable woman who really had a lot of ideas to how to make Culvers a fun place to work, it was almost a little creepy, jk. I mean this lady had all kinds of crazy lil' ideas that she did when she actually worked in a few different stores. For instince she said she once played musical positions in the kitchen and everybody would move one position to the left everytime a customer would say "chocolate shake" over the drive thru speaker, which can be heard in the kitchen, I was pretty amazedf that she had enough time to think this up and actually be able to do it. As soon as I heard her story I started thinking man, that would be a cool game to play, but then I quickly was forced into realtiy and knew that game would never work at our store because half the people that work the kitchen, only work one position, so it would be more like one or two people switching spots while the other suckas just stay scooping frys all day long! Haha, just kiddin! I found myself staring off into space a few times today because sometimes the speakers were just going on, and on, so I was able to just tune out their voice somehow and just listen to the water drip off of my cup and onto the table that I sat at for about 8.5 hours today, hmmmm. After class today all of us students of Culverization went over to the Mr. and Mrs. Butterburger :) the food was pretty good except for when I got in line to get some goods, there was a choice between a delicious looking steak or a nasty looking chicken breast, and I guess my natural senses kicked in and I chose the chicken, what a mistake! This thing was not too tasty :( However the rest of it was really good, there was this potato salad that was good and there were these baked beans with some other stuff that is mixed together and apparently it was George Culver's recipe, man that guy is good (George is Craig's pops) These were by far the best baked beans I have ever tasted in my life, I think what helped it taste so good was the very tasteful strips of bacon in them, whooohhoooo that was the bomb diggity! After supper we all just chit chatted and just kinda hung out and got to talking about odd situations that you know nobody would really understand unless they worked there themselves, which by the way is a strange feeling when you're at a place with like 30 peeps and they all know pretty much the same stuff as you, so it's kinda like you're the same, but different, ya know? Anyways it was a pretty weird feeling being around all these big time peeps like Craig, Lea (Craigs wife), Phil Keiser who I've only heard about from Steve being paranoid that he's going to be stopping by the store, Phil by the way is the President and CEO of CfSi. I also met a guy named Art Cone, man that is an odd name, wow. I think he said that he's in charge of something like ordering the stuff that you see in Culver's, apparently that is a big time job, big enough where you just get to hang out at Craigs house. So, yeah all in all it was a pretty cool day, long, but cool, ya know? Well, be sure to check back tomorrow cause I'm sure I'll have lots to talk about considering Betty and Justin (some random guy we had breakfast with this morning) have an urge to go check out the Middleton Culver's because they now have self ordering cash registers, so it should be a good time! Until next time my Czarbach-a-rillos, have fun and stay real with yourself, peace and love :)
